PAST NEWS FEBRUARY 2013

MURDER MYSTERY - A SUCCESSFUL WHODUNNIT! report by Ken Webb

We had a great turnout for the Mystery Supper with over 60 people sitting down to a hot 2-course meal.  We were then entertained by the Drama Group to the Murder Mystery which took half an hour, then each table were given the evidence sheets which had to be studied and the Murderer decided upon. This caused many laughs from the nine tables and at this point we served coffee and mints as (I hope) a stimulant. Many got the murderer correct, but the winner was the table nearest to the solution of how it had been done.

It was a great evening and we had nice compliments on the food. We made an approximate profit of £600, which is marvellous and makes all the hard work worthwhile. So a big THANK YOU to all who attended. Click here to see the photos >

COUNTRY & WESTERN SUPPER

A great evening of live music, all american food, lots of chat and laughter and even some line dancing. The recent country and western evening held at Wood Lodge, Fersfield on 16th February, was enjoyed by 28 people, many of whom arrived in stetsons, jeans and checked shirts. The evening raised £190 which will be donated to several charities. Many thanks to everyone who came along and made the evening such a success.

THE BEAUTY SLEEPING by Brenda Webb

What a great success this year's panto was with well attended performances on Thursday and Saturday but Friday evening's audience was a little low in number. Everyone enjoyed the show, which makes all the time and effort put in by the cast, backstage staff and those that support, very worthwhile. A huge thank you to all who came and helped us raise in the region of £1,100 - this is excellent for a small local group. It is difficult to thank everyone but I would like to say thanks to our new director Ann, who is new to the village, and by taking on this role and spreading the workload, enabled me to go back on stage.
