Shape the future: Design Code consultation
 Design Code SPD consultation 27 October – 8 December 2025 We are writing to you about a forthcoming consultation regarding the South Norfolk Council and Broadland District Council’s draft Design Code Supplementary Planning Document. This consultation will run from 9am on Monday, 27th October 2025, until 5pm on Monday, 8th December 2025.The Design Code has been prepared to improve the consistency and quality of new residential design across both Districts (but excluding the Broads Authority executive area). It will be applicable to all new residential schemes between one dwelling and 500 dwellings and it is intended that it will be for use by all of those involved in the development management process – from applicants to local communities, Councillors and decision makers. We encourage everyone interested in reviewing and giving feedback on the Design Code and its supporting documents to visit the Council’s website at the link below, where you will find all the relevant materials:Click here to have your say and review the supporting documents. The consultation documents include the draft Design Code as well as the Landscape and Architectural Assessments for both South Norfolk Council and Broadland District Council and the accompanying Assessment Framework. All comments received during this period will be considered at the close of the consultation period. After this, the final version of the Design Code will be presented at formal Council meetings in early 2026 for adoption as part of the planning policy documents for both South Norfolk Council and Broadland District Council.
