Plans for routing of new electricity cables
Bressingham and Fersfield Parish Council encourage you to study the Consultation for a new high voltage network reinforcement between Norwich, Bramford and Tilbury and to submit your response. Full details and Response Form are here:
You will see that two of the proposed routes pass close by Bressingham.

Whilst our existing high voltage electricity network in East Anglia has been sufficient until today, it doesn’t have the capability needed to reliably and securely transport all the energy that will be connected by 2030 while working to the required standards. The new network will play a vital role in delivering electricity efficiently, reliably, and safely and will support the UK’s move to reduce carbon emissions.
The reinforcement would comprise mostly overhead line (including pylons and conductors – the ‘line’ part), underground cabling through the Dedham Vale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB), works at existing substations at Norwich, Bramford and Tilbury and a new 400 kV connection substation in the Tendring district.
We will be holding an information event with you, more details will follow shortly.
Norfolk County Council – Local Transport Implementation Plan
Norfolk County Council adopted its fourth Local Transport Plan Strategy in 2021. This covers the longer-term until 2036 and was developed taking available evidence into account and was the subject of consultation and appropriate appraisal and assessments. More information can be found here.
This Implementation Plan has been developed following adoption of the Local Transport Plan Strategy. When this Implementation Plan is adopted, it – together with the strategy – will form the local transport plan for the county (referred to here as LTP4) and will replace the previous local transport plan (LTP3).
We have now created our draft Local Transport Implementation Plan, and we would like your views on this plan via this consultation.
